01 / Overview
AO-INTERACTIVE collaborated with Metacode to plan the full layout and visitor journey for King Saud University’s Experience Center in Riyadh. After the journey and spatial design were approved, we designed and produced the complete digital content ecosystem, combining sensor-activated storytelling screens with an AR-enabled campus maquette experience for VIP visits and institutional presentations.
02 / The Challenge
Navigating Complexity
KSU needed a premium, future-forward experience center that could impress VIP delegations while clearly communicating the university’s history, achievements, alumni, and future vision. The experience had to feel responsive (not like static signage), operate reliably as a permanent installation, and transform a 4×4m physical campus maquette into an interactive, explorable digital layer.
03 / The Solution
Innovative Execution
- Experience planning with Metacode: mapped the visitor journey, interaction zones, and digital focal points across the space.
- Sensor-activated storytelling: built a Unity-based system for 4 interactive screens that auto-play content via proximity sensors when a visitor stands in front of the display.
- Cinematic content production: produced 4 animated videos (Blender pipeline) showcasing KSU’s history, achievements, alumni, and future goals.
- AR campus maquette system: developed a Unity AR application that recognizes a 4×4m KSU campus model and renders an interactive map overlay.
- Four touchscreen kiosks: deployed 4 interactive kiosks around the maquette enabling visitors to open virtual tours for POIs and explore KSU information through an interactive interface.
