01 / Overview
Blue Rhine Industries commissioned AO-INTERACTIVE to create the 3D animation content for the giant LED display at Dubai Aquarium. AO's responsibility was the complete creative and technical production of the video animation—not the manufacture, supply, or installation of the LED screen.
The studio developed a cinematic underwater world with detailed marine life, atmospheric depth, water effects, lighting, and large-scale movement. Every shot was composed and rendered for an unusually wide, high-resolution display canvas so the animation would retain visual clarity and impact at architectural scale.
AO delivered the final high-resolution animation masters to Blue Rhine Industries for integration and playback on the installed LED system.
02 / The Challenge
Navigating Complexity
The content had to feel cinematic when expanded across a non-standard display measuring approximately 70 m × 40 m and more than 17,000 pixels horizontally. The creative challenge was to build enough detail, scale, motion, and atmospheric depth for a giant public-facing canvas while managing the demanding render resolution and preserving composition across the full screen.

03 / The Solution
Innovative Execution
- Creative development: Established the visual direction for a cinematic underwater sequence designed specifically for a monumental digital canvas.
- 3D environment and marine life: Modeled, textured, animated, and lit the underwater scene using Unreal Engine, Blender, and a dedicated VFX pipeline.
- Large-format composition: Planned camera movement, subject scale, timing, and depth so the story remained legible across the display's extreme dimensions.
- High-resolution rendering: Optimized the production pipeline for a final canvas exceeding 17,000 horizontal pixels.
- Technical delivery: Prepared and supplied the final animation masters to Blue Rhine Industries in the required playback format. LED hardware, installation, and on-site screen commissioning were outside AO's scope.
